View Full Version : Yet ANOTHER plea for "Operation Goodguys"
I've just seen the episode when a New York cop visits our 'goodguys' ... and tries to capture a counterfeiting villain using a bag full of money, with an aluminium paint anti-theft device.
(I'm just about able to type this through my tears of laughter.)
Please BBC or whoever - release a double DVD with all the episodes on . You did it with "The Thin Blue Line" - do the same with "Operation Goodguys" Very soon.......PLEASE.:) :)

I wholeheartedly agree.
Some of the episodes are painfully funny - especially the one where there's a murder mystery weekend!
Release it NOW!!!

That would be amazing, I've acquired all episodes of Fist of Fun and TMWRNJ but a DVD boxset would be great. Highly unlikley though as the BBC wiped the master tapes of half of one of the series of TMWRNJ.
Moving to the TV Forum :)
Just been watching the "Jubilee" episode tonight. They're all preparing for the Royal Family visit and a sack of dog turds is just lying in the middle of the floor with the other rubbish. With an hour to go, D.I.Beach throws a wobbler, kicks the sack and.... I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the episode.
Does the DVD release of this great series contains all the episodes?
Information gathered from the Amazon website seems to suggest otherwise.
Featuring the episodes from Series 1 and 2: 'The Informant', 'Radio Silence', 'Frisk 'em', 'Holiday', 'Safe As Houses', 'Open Day', 'Sylvia La Plage', 'Back To School', 'Stardust', 'Forensics', 'I Will Survive', 'Viva Espana', and 'Operation Zorro'. Plus all the episodes from Series 3.

Review
Featuring all three series of Operation Good Guys.
Series 1: A new fly-on-the-wall documentary series about an elite police unit's bid to snare one of Britain's most powerful crime lords. But things are not quite what they seem... Operation Good Guys is in fact an innovative and irreverent comedy. Blurring the line between fact and fiction, it witnesses, on camera, the total breakdown, professionally and personally, of the Operation Good Guys team. Throughout the operation, The 'Good Guys' have an unfortunate habit of embroiling into their calamitous world some of the country's best-known celebrities, from actors and footballers, to TV presenters and even the odd ex-convict.
Series 2: The first series won the Silver Rose for Best Sitcom and the Prix de la presse at Montreux 1998. Now DI Beach and the team are docu-soap stars, the police have no choice but to reunite them. Barry Couch, the constabulary's newly appointed razor-sharp PR consultant, organises a number of "controlled" showcase operations, from traffic calming in Camberwell to perfume scams on the Costa Del Sol, to prove the previous operation as a one-off failure. But with BBC producer Clive Tollack looking to manipulate every situation for television effect and Barry Couch trying to stop him, and with the Good Guys only beginning to come to terms with the pressures of their newfound celebrity, one thing is for sure - nothing will go to plan.
Series 3: The hilarious spoof-docu-soap - set in a disaster-prone police station - returns. As the BBC commissions ever-more unrealistic scenarios, DI Beach and his colleagues find themselves dressed as women; giving road-safety classes to schoolchildren; investigating corruption in boxing; and generally misunderstanding the brief.

I found the cheapest place to get it is CD-Wow (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://cd-wow.at/thedvdforums) for £20.00 delivered. That's the complete box set though.
