watched the mole last year on channel 5, enjoyed it v much and was looking forward to a new series this year. did it happen and I missed it?
I only ever saw the very last episode, quite an interesting idea well done.
I'm afraid that five aren't making any more series of The Mole.
I've heard rumors but nothing concrete but I'm sure it would have been done by now. It's a shame becuase the first series was really really good. A repeat would be welcome

There have been two series of The Mole - one was set on the Isle of Man/Wight (can't remember which) and the other was set in America. Both were excellent and by far the best thing Channel 5 have ever done. I'm sure they had announcements at the end of the 2nd series for applying for another series - it would be a shame if there wasn't another series

Close but not quite. The first was on the island of Jersey with a trip into france and the 2nd was was in Canada
They asked for applicants for series 3 at the end of series 2 and I wanted to apply but missed the deadline. Thankfully it didn't matter but I would have loved to have done it.

watched series 2 and at the end i was a bit miffed at how cryptic the clues were as to who the mole was. did anyone get any of the 'clues' ?
Yes,espescially since they told you at the end! They were also similar to series one. They used the intro clues so that made it really easy. Some of the things you couldn't get unless you were there. The coffee trick was great but none of the viewers could get that

Well did anyone see this on Challenge TV last night? i thought it would be repeats of the classic Channel 5 show but it wasn't it was an american version of the show.
I found it very dissappointing annoying people, crap games and far too much money up for grabs. 'i don't want to lose 10 grand' some said in Paris what the other 990 thousand anit enough?
I am sure it will get better and hopefully if its a hit challenge may be a new series like that Fort one.
Here's hoping anyway.
What was that other one that Five did that had people in a prison trying to break out?

Very good IMHO, some great characters in there. I've since worked with Guliano and I saw Laura in Survivor on ITV. I managed to tape an episode of it.
Thanks for the heads up on the mole, I'd be interested to see it. I wonder if they'll show Celebrity Mole.

Didn't Fred Savage (of the Wonder Years) play the mole.

I don't know but thanks for spoiling it just in case :nono:

As to the clues being incredibly obscure: I always got the feeling that those particular clues were just thrown in so that anybody looking for them would find them. I always thought the real point was to try discovering the mole by analysing the actions of the contestants.

If you're doubting it's existence then I can confirm it's real.
Saw ep3 tonight. Seem okay but not as good as our one. The tasks are similar. I've forgotten all the mole tatics from series 1 so I can't use them now :(

I guess that's why I didn't recognise Fred Savage
I don't know how you've got your wires crossed but I'll clarify. The version on Challenge is The mole, USA, series 1. Celebrity Mole is series 3 (I think) of the USA and isn't being shown here.

Anyone have a theory on the mole? I thought it might have been Jennifer after she guessed correctly that the stupid team might be misleading her. I thought that might be a way of cutting their winnings.
The other theory is Kate or that guy who went missing in the church rescue mission. I've only seen 3 eps though
Never mind. (I was laughing, as you had yourself, at the reason for not recognising Fred Savage being that he wasn't in it. Sorry about that.)
I am getting confused now though. So is the celebrity edition of The Mole currently airing in the US, or did it air some time in the past.

Sorry for the mix-up about Fred Savage. I was indeed reffering to Goldmember.:D
What happens in Goldfinger?
Challenge are showing The mole, The mole 2 and Celebrity Mole back to back. So this series should end on Thursday with friday being the "how we did it" ep. Monday should be the start of series 2 and 25th Celeb edition.
I don't know when Celeb Mole was aired but it must have been very recently becuase I remember reading last year the tapes for the finale were destroyed in a fire and they were in trouble. Also Weird Al namechecks it on his brand new album on the track Couch Potato.
With Kate gone a possible suspect has also gone. I'm now starting to think it might be charlie after the terrible performance on the capture the bowl game and while he could have blown the 2nd challenge he didn't. Also one guy (steve?) said something like "he's acting like the mole. He's beating me at my own game". Maybe a clue there. If it was steve he was also suspect in the Laser gun game when his walkie talkie messages didn't work he claims. He also refused to get his legs put in a cast which is a seemingly easy thing to do
Celebrity mole:hawaii started on 8th January 2003 and probably ended feb/march
If they use clues like in the UK series of the mole that are purely intended for the viewer then I'm pretty confident that Charlie the old guy is the mole.
This is because on the very first episode when you see some of the people arriving he was dring an old convertible car with the registration plate readin what looked like TOAD.....I'm taking this as Toad of Toad Hall, and who were his frineds in Wind in the Willows.....Badger, Ratty and .....Mole. ;)
Any thoughts?

But why would who you mentioned be caught going into the Crew's Car? he is a nasty guy though.
I think Steve at the mo.

Well we know from the UK version that the Mole and the crew meet everyday to discuss tactics and the tasks.
The guy when questioned by the cameraman said he was meeting someone there.
The cameramna telling him that it wouldn't be a good idea to go into the car might be a red herring in terms of the crew shouldn't/wouldn't meet him in broad daylight in the production cars.
Kathrine was the only one who looked at the notebook when they left the room. That could be a clue that she's not the mole perhaps. She's :norty: btw :D

Well it anit Charlie!
Going with Steve any thoughts?
Steve still looks strong. Then again it could be Catherine, she seems to have gotten very close to the boys and they wouldn't think it was her. Wasn't Steve with her for the first task?I think the mole couldn't have really done anything to sabatage it. I'm surprised they didn't get the number of sheep right since he told them. Even I knew that! Well I thought it was 721

At least it's only 1 day for us. If it was a week I'd be really mad. Still I was going to watch it anyway
I liked todays challenge in the hotel and god knows why steve didn't try the number on the safe or look through the paper.
I made a mistake earlier it was Jim who refused to put casts on both legs but having said that wouldn't it be too obvious if the mole did that. At least Steve had an excuse to hide behind.
Kathryn crying today and fainting yesterday, all a bit too convienient. Never knew Jim was gay but I'm glad they mentioned it again becuase I wasn't sure I heard correctly the first time.
So the mole was
Kathryn!!! Baby faced assasin! She's so cold. I had my suspisions but as she said she thought "Don't you want to WIN any money?" They messed up so many times. All the crying and fainting ect. was a bit suspect but Steve was worse
new series of the mole starting on monday

It's great isn't it! No one's mentioned what they thought of the mole and how they played the game yet.
I thought the final ep was quite touching. Great of Charlie to be so apologetic to kate. The mole getting upset during a challenge (off-camera) was also pretty sad

Well i feel the Mole from Series 1 was quite rubbish, too much feelings. Like what did the Mole do apart from 1 Mission?
And all the Mole was saying was i need to get money for the Team? What is that all about?
The new series looks good right enough more people, looks alot harder, burning there bags !!!!!

And I missed it :brickwall Still alway saturday's repeat.
I don't know what you mean about the mole needing to get money? One time they said they felt bad for them and another time they tried to win really badly to avert suspision

The mole said it a few times and the clues were
'Payed the Price' did anyone get that?
Yeah, some of the clues were tenuous to say the least. Even the UK version had bad clues but it also had some very obvious ones and the US version lacked that.
I understood the "paid the price" one but didn't spot it as a clue originally. The mole didn't do enough sabataging

So who does everyone think the mole is in the new series ?, i`m going for Elavia (i think thats her name). Also has anyone else noticed that somtimes when we see shots of the bags there`s a bag with the name Michael on it and no contestant called Michael. I first spotted the michael bag when they were doing the bag burning task, when they showed a close up of the bags one said michael and then tonight they panned across all the bags and the michael bag was there again.

Same here. I noticed she left her diary in front of kate. I also suspect Kate and the oriental girl and the former army guy
Back to the 1st series as I've only just managed to watch the end of it....and thought this was mildly disappointing.
Would never have got Kate as the Mole, and this isn't due to my thickness, but more a case of what exactly did she do as the Mole? A lot of thier task failures were group efforts which a lot of people played a factor into failing.
And some of her actions throughout the series were never properly explained, for example why if she was the Mole did she need to look in the production diary during her interview? Surely the directors would have told her that no-one else had looked and that i she was the only one to look then it would just arouse suspicion?!
At least the Brtish version was definatley decided as to if it was edited for the audience or for the players to look back over. And at least they devoted a whole episode to every single task and what the mole did in each.
As for the second series in the US, haven't watched any yet but got them all on vid so a mamouth session coming up soon.

It was a clue IMHO. Firstly they wanted to make her seem like an ordinary contestant and secondly they planned it. The only person who'd know is the mole and the only person who'd know they'd gain no knowledge would be the mole. If you realise that then you realise that it could be a great opportunity for the mole to avert suspision.
Then again, most clues can be read both ways and just renforce existing theories.

Yeah, Katie is really annoying, i`m sick of her getting exclusions from execution, also what has she done to her hand, has that been mentioned in the program ?

I thought that about her hand it must be wiping the tears from her eyes to much she hurt it.
What about the hidden clues mentioned in each episode of the second series that are for the viewers??
I think one of them is the fact that Anderson held up the no.1 journal...possibly meaning the 1st person seen or in the titles, which would point to Al.
I've basically eliminated all the women, as I don;t think they'd use a women again.
The only other guy I'm going with at the mo is Darwin.
before they take the test do any of yous see blured out writing in the green box?

Noticed that last night, even though i am enjoying this season i do think there is far to many exclusions making the game more luck than skill.
i think Celebrity Mole looks kinda' sad
I'm enjoying it less really. The characters haven't come through. Elavia was suspisous for not looking around when she took her blindfold off. Even someone who was faking would be curious I think. She wanted to go last in the swing challenge and got the exemption. Then again it's too obvious
With the tightrope walk there's a parallel to the 2nd UK series
The people in the UK series had been plied with coffee to increase their heart rate. Maybe the mole picked the bloke to do that challenge knowing he'd had a lot of coffee to drink. Could be the army guy then. That nurse may have done it but then you don't really need any knowledge to perform that role
Okay, things are hotting up now.
I'm really moving toward heather now. She approached Dorithy for an alliance which I believe was a way to divert suspision. Also I think she was chosen for the running game because she could do least damage. That said Dorthy wasn't paying too much attention.
I also notice when they were in the car she was in shot. If she was the mole they'd probably want her to be on screen as much as possible.
Finally they asked the question "in the market, the mole got a henna tattoo on what part of thier body" and showed Heather's tattoo. Did anyone else get a tattoo? I think it's a strange question since it reveals who the mole is, unless everyone got a tattoo in different places

Dorothy got a tattoo and so did Bill. I was gutted when Elavia took the money, so now my suspicions have changed to Heather
Evilbones
26-07-2003, 13:25
i'll go with Bill becuase of the words on the road THE MOLE WIL(L) the last L being a diferent colour, will, william, Bill. Simple!
I found out who the mole was for the second series when I got impatient in wanting to know who the first US mole was. It isn't the same when you know and half of the time the mole doesn't need to do anything for them to muck up the task.
Enjoyed the twoUK series and was dissapointed it was cancelled. I wonder if the third series was ever filmed?
Looking forward to Celebrity Mole though.
Well well well, Bill was the mole! Can't say I was surprise even though I suspected heather. What really made me suspisous was when bill got to the dossier first. I thought they would have rigged it for the mole to be the first one to get there.
Celeb mole is a bit lame though. The presenter isn't that good and the challenges aren't up to much. I think Katy might be the mole. I enjoyed that bit where Corbin tried to get them all to give him an exemption or loose $25k.
What's the deal with the money then? Does it go to charity? If so then it's a bit reckless if they're letting other people's money go

The money goes to there pocket, but true it is quite crap. Just hope that they show the uk version.
Me too
Last friday they started showing the first USA series again (so it's repeated tonight). If you missed it first time around then nows your chance. It's the best series IMHO
