In my opinion anyway! Just a heads up that series 6 starts this week on Sky One, Wednesday, with a 2-hour season premiere. If anyone out there hasn't given this series a try, please do as it's excellent. Very different from the usual "Star Trek-style" sci-fi crap that's everywhere. Genuinely funny and unpredictable, makes an effort to be different.
Although season 6 isn't the best place to start watching!
IMO, the almighty Farscape dumps continuous buckets of foul smelling uric acid from high almighty raining down upon the cowering flaccid worm that has the pitiful existance of being SG-1.
IMO. :D
and yes I know they cancelled Farscape and not Stargate. It's a cruel, cruel world.
I agree Stargate is one of the best sci-fi tv shows around at present. If you can't watch it on Wednesday like me, then it is repeated on Sunday at 1pm.

My wife would completely agree with u LHG!
To be honest when I have watched it I have been thoroughly entertained - some very good concepts used in the plots.

Couldn't stand Farscape (And I managed through the first series's of Babylon 5, STNG, Voyager, Andromeda, Earth2, Space Precinct and DS9 (though gave up with Enterprise))
Stargate is the SF dogs dangly bits (IMO)
Stargate and Farscape are both great shows, scientific fact! no opinions :D

Could never stand Farscape personally, just 'Muppets In Space - the TV series'.
I've watched all of Next Generation, DS9, Voyager, Space: Above & Beyond and a few seasons of X-Files, and the only one I really enjoyed out of them was Deep Space 9. I can't bring myself to watch Enterprise, the theme tune alone made me want to smash the TV.

I'm with Mr. Guitarist on this, and so is the wife. Stargate is the sci-fi champ by far.

You'd better not be bad-mouthing "Muppets in Space" - its a classic film
So did we all watch it tonight? :norty:
Was a very good opener for the season I thought, but then again I absolutly love Stargate ever since I first watched the movie in the cinema.

of course, seen it before (downloaded off the web) but it was nice to see it on the big screen so to speak - be even nicer if someone could persuade sky1 to go widescreen :(
as always i enjoyed it, SG1 seldom if ever fails to satisfy imo, looking forward to finding out more about Anubis sometime later in the series.
Good to see SG-1 back and it was a very good opening two part episode. I've just watched the SG-1 Director Series featurette for Redemption on the latest DVD and it runs about 20 minutes. Well worth a look. There's even featurettes for the next two episodes (Descent & Frozen) which I'll save until i've watched them. I quite liked the new title sequence as well. Just knowing there's a whole season of new episodes to look forward to seeing each week is good news. :)

Series 6 starts of very well, but we'll be getting a few duff episodes in the coming weeks. Also, the new title sequence changes again to something slightly different a few episodes into the season!
I've just started watching this show and am halfway through season 1, I'm getting the boxsets. I hope i'm in for a treat

Things get really good towards the end of season 1. Hope you enjoy it!
I'm enjoying at the moment as they seem to be just standalone eps, I'm getting used to the characters though. I just watched Thor's Hammer which was enjoyable. It gave a feeling that Teal'C is a real part of the SG-1 team after Daniel & O'Neill's 'sacrifice' to destroy the hammer
