it's brilliant :) it has a different feel to the film though, but if you're a fan of Kevin Smith, you're gunna like the cartoons. the very first episode isn't so great, but after that it gets a lot better.

Another fan here

Randal: "This isn't a gay thing is it?"

Leonardo Leonardo: (long hesitation) "No"

Randal: "Are you sure?"

Leonardo Leonardo: (even longer hesitation) "Yes"

I've only seen episodes 1 and 2 so far but it's great. Second one is just LOADED with jokes, while in the movie they're a bit more drawn out, here they're so quick you can barely absorb half of them beause there's so many, it's very funny!

The series is purely ok, i didn't think it was that great to be honest - except for the episode with JAPANIMATION! which cracked me up.

The thing I found even funnier is the commentary on one of the episodes where Kevin Smith says how much he hates the show Family Guy. I found this incredibly funny considering the fact Family Guy ****** all over the Clerks animated series and is a much better show!

Clerks is average at best ... cheap incestuous film industry jokes recycled every 5 mins ... there are some good one liners but I can see why it was taken off the air so quick.
The Commentary is interesting for the fact they do nothing but bitch about everyone but over 6 episodes of bitching is prtty hard to take.

Very funny, koe_182's sig is my favourite bit too, I nearly choked as I was eating when that bit came on.

Episode 2 is fabulous ......... a cracking ****- take of those godawful money saving 'clip' shows that plague many tv series.

It's great.

Also rumoured that MTV are considering picking up the rights for a new series next year.

I love the part:

"Is it safe...IS it Safe?! .... Is it safe?"

And then when the guy finally gets out of the psychiatry "are you sure it's safe" and doc goes "yes it's perfectly safe" and Jay tosses a stick of dynamite and blows them all to hell hehe.

Just to resurrect this long-dead thread, this starts on ITV4 next Wednesday at 10:30 in what I think is the first showing of this in the UK.

Think I might go and watch this later, this show is immense. Any updates on the movie?

Just to offer an alternative to the unanimous approval in this thread, I'm a Kevin Smith fan and love the Clerks film but absolutely despise the animated series. It's desperately unfunny, with unfunny dialogue and unfunny situations. It was awful and I hate it.

Apparently it's still coming, but won't surface until next year at the earliest.

Well, just to clarify, I like the animated series, and while it has its good moments in each episode, I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, or as good as the film.

Having said that, as I haven't seen them for quite a few years and I'm pleased to have the opportunity happy to watch them again, especially as it's for free :D

I obtained episode 1 a long time ago, as a taster, to see if it was worth buying the DVD.

I didn't think it was very funny. Something was "off" about it. I didn't buy the DVD. I'll give it another go on ITV4 now.

Aw, i really like the animated series, for many different reasons than Smith's movies. There's some great dialogue there - some lines i'll remember for years....

"I've got a special delivery for you. A special delivery of *pain*!!!!"

We are slaves.

I'm the same here, I love his films, but found the cartoon to be crap.

I'm a big Kevin Smith, own all the films, love what he does with his DVDs and have been to see him twice but i hate the show and found it desperately unfunny. The commentaries are quite interesting though as they talk about how they were screwed by the television channel.

I got the DVD ages ago but sold it on as I thought it was OK but wouldnt bear repeated watching. I'll give it another ago now seeing as it's on TV

I've taped all of these (so far, tonights is the last one) but haven't watched them due to the order they've been broadcast in.

My question is do I watch them in ITV4 order or the order of the episodes?

ITV4 Broadcast order.

15/03/2006 Episode 4
22/03/2006 Episode 2
29/03/2006 Episode 1
05/04/2006 Episode 3
12/04/2006 Episode 5
19/04/2006 Episode 6

got the discs a while ago, but only ever watched the first episode - thought it pretty pants

should give it another go though (just for completeness' sake)

PS - anyone know when K Smith's next 'Q&A' is out on DVD (with the English show)

The animated series is excellent, very different to the actual film and I don't find them much alike at all.

It's almost like a cross between Family Guy and Harvey Birdman to me - It's almost mainstream like FG, contains many film + tv references and uses flashback humour, but it's also very surreal and quick moving like HB.

An Evening with Kevin Smith: Evening Harder should be out around the same time as Clerks 2. It was filmed in HD so hopefully there'll be a Blu-ray release soon

haha yeah, because a guy standing there and talking is a fantastic show off of HD :) i wonder why they bothered.. unlikely to be for any TV networks, not getting a theatrical run (unless it has a limited one..) its not likely to be the kind of thing to stick on BR/HDDVD.. could just be for the added clarity even after downconverted to SD.

DrVenkman

The thing is about this show is that there's a definate upswing in quality towards the end of the run. I know it was only 6 episodes or whatever but from about episode 3 onwards the show hits its stride.

Sadly though, it only gets dismissed as a 'crap show' because it isn't funny enough. Then again though, both 'Futurama' and 'The Simpsons' took a while before they brought the funny.

Correct episode order.

If ITV broadcast it in a different running order than what it should be, and you know this, why bother asking in which order you should watch this? :cuckoo:
