Can anyone help please. I have just changed my multiregion DVD player and I now find that PAL plays in B&W instead of colour on this particular television. Everything works fine on other televisions and NTSC plays fine. Any suggestions?

It is a Pioneer DVD player and a Goodmans tv.

Thanks.

Depending on what model Pioneer it is, u should be able to change a setting on the dvd player that outputs NTSC as PAL60.

Check your manual (should be in there) - On mine I Think its something like Power off, hold down STandby & press FF, repeating until it shows PAL60.

My player is a Pioneer 444 btw

Unfortunately the NTSC plays fine. It is when it plays PAL that I have the problem, which is obviously curious as the tv displays PAL normally alright.

As you`ve said the player is fine on other TVs, then the TV is at fault. Double check the connections on the TV, as theres no waya DVD player would output PAL as blackandwhite, but NTSC in colour ;) The problem might be you are using a s-video input and the TV is not set to s-video, as that would cause pal signals to be in black and white.

Hope that helps
